Farewell
Centuries ago (500 B.C.), the Greek philosopher Heraclitus made this statement: “Change is the only constant in life.” Until we enter eternity, he is correct. Everything in life is in a constant state of flux. I think about how many things have come and gone in my time at Castine!
As many of you know, a consistent struggle is communication. Actually, we use eleven methods to disseminate information, Castine Connect being one. Unfortunately, Castine Connect now only reaches a few. For example, in April 2024, we sent 149 Connects, of which 99 were opened, but only 28 actually viewed something.
We have heard, and you are correct, that Castine Connect contains the same information as Castinechurch.com and the Castineapp. However, by comparison, our app currently has 1024 subscribers with good interaction.
So, we will no longer offer Castine Connect as one of our eleven means of communication. Instead, we will focus on Castinechurch.com and the Castineapp. We hope this change will help us effectively reach our church family with helpful information.
Please be assured that we will strive hard to inform you of events in our ministry. We hear your concerns for better communication. There is always room to improve, something we regularly review.
Although we say “farewell” to Castine Connect, we will continue using our additional ten avenues to update you with news regarding our church family.
